Smart direction change transfer units for seamless pallet transport
A transfer unit, also known as a transfer unit, is an automated mechanical system that moves pallets or goods perpendicularly from one conveyor to another, for example, from a roller conveyor to a chain conveyor or vice versa. This creates a smooth transition between different transport systems or directions. The PMBK pallet transfer unit is widely used in warehouses, distribution centers, warehouses, and production environments where efficiency and safety are paramount.
What is a pallet transfer unit?
A pallet transfer unit allows you to easily move or reorient pallets without having to lift or remove the entire pallet. This reduces time, physical strain, and risks, making it ideal for busy logistics environments.
Benefits of transfer units
Efficiency in change of direction
Automatic 90 degree transfer without manual intervention and ideal for crossings, junctions or parallel runs.
Compact and space-saving
No bends or large structures are required and the transfer takes place vertically in the same space as the line.
Fully automated
Works based on sensors and PLC control and is perfect for unmanned logistics processes.
Reliable and quiet
Electromechanical or hydraulic lifting and moving movements suitable for continuous use in 24/7 environments.
Safe and easy to maintain
Integrated safety stops and barriers prevent accidents. Clear shielding and easy access for maintenance.
Specifically for heavy pallets
Suitable for pallets up to 2500 kg, made of robust, wear-resistant, and corrosion-resistant material. Long service life, even with intensive use. Safe and easy to operate, ideal for industrial and logistics environments.
Practical applications
Crossing of transport routes
For example, between supply and return lines.
Coupling of roller conveyor and chain conveyor
So that one system can handle different pallet types or directions.
Logistical hubs or buffer points
For temporary storage or redistribution.
Automatic line change
At sorting facilities or loading stations.
How does a transfer unit work?
A pallet is positioned on a powered roller conveyor. The transfer unit lifts the pallet slightly. Chains or cross rollers slide the pallet across at a right angle, and the pallet is lowered onto the next conveyor, ready for further transport.
Technical options
Chain or roller transfer depending on direction. Single- or double-acting units. Controlled via a central PLC or local control panel. Length 1350 mm. Maximum pallet weight 2500 kg. Robust and durable construction. Suitable for warehouses, production facilities, logistics centers, and warehouses.
